Itinerary Program:

DAY 01
Arrive Amritsar
You will be met on arrival at the airport / railway station in Amritsar and transfer to hotel. Later city tour of Golden Temple / Jaliyawla Bagh and proceed to Wagha border ( India and Pakistan) in time to witness Colsing ceremony which starts around 5 PM but you need to be in time around 4 PM to secure your nice vice place / seat. Back to the city and explore the charming market of Amritsar and overnight stay.

DAY 02
Drive to Dharamsala 200 Kms / 4 hours Drive
Depart Manali early in the morning our first halt is Marhi A barren landscape offering extensive views of the valley and the mountains. We proceed to Rohtang Pass 3790 M is most popular with visitors, being one of the highest road point and gateway to LAHAUL and SPITI valleys. Pass remains closed during winter due to heavy snow from November end to May end. Visitors can drive upto MARHI below ROHTANG with similar high altitude topography, forest of Birch, Fir and Spurce. Once we cross the Rohtang Pass border we are in the Barren Himalayas with the landscape completely changing Khoksar is the first village and gate way to Lahaul Night stay in Keylong. DAY 03
Drive Dharamsala to Manali – 250 Kms / 6 hours Drive
After breakfast drive in the north east to reach at Manali. Beautiful drive in middle of Himalayan ranges offers beautiful view of valley / lush green terrain. Arrive in the afternoon at beautiful town of Manali and check in at your hotel in Manali. Colorful market of Manali will attract you to hand around in The Mall and some local shopping of its handmade own product. Spend an overnight in Manali

DAY 04
Drive Manali Rohtang Pass Koksar Keylong

DAY 05
Drive Keylong - Darcha - Sarchu - Leh
Get prepared for the most interesting overland high altitude drive up to Leh. May take approx 10 hours. You will arrive at Darcha ( 3500 Meter) is situated at the junction of Yotche Nullah and the Zangskar chhu which takes off from the Shinkun la. Both these nullahs meet with the main river Bhaga at this place. This is the main point for the trek lovers wish to enter in Zanskar valley or up to Leh.
Your drive from this place will take to BaraLacha Pass ( 1620 Ft) and further drive to Sarchu which is nearly the mid point of Manali Leh route. Continue drive to Pang and cross morai plains and arrive at Tanglangla Pass (5400 M) and enter in Leh Valley. Your further drive will take you to Upsi by crossing river Indus and follow the highway up to Leh. Check in at your hotel and overnight stay

DAY 06
IN Leh ( Excursion of Khardugla Pass – Leh City)
Morning excursion to Khardong-La (80 kms round trip / alt: 18,380 ft.), highest motorable pass in the world and recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records . Offers an incredible view of Leh valley and Stok kangri group of Peaks ( 6150 M) at the back drop of Leh valley. Differs Leh Valley and Nubra Valley which used to be the Silk Route to Pakistan and Afghanistan. Drive back to Leh town and you have time to explore Leh palace / Namgyal palace / Shanti Stupa / Shankar Gompa and Leh market.

DAY 07
Drive Leh – Pangog Lake – 150 Kms
After leisurely breakfast drive North east of Leh to reach at Pangong Lake. Enroute worth visiting Shey Palace and Thikse monasteries enroute. Further up hill drive from Upsi crossing the Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft.). you will descend towards Pangong lake can be seen from a distance once you are nearer to the Lake. Check in at your Camp and rest of the day for your photography and watching this magnificent lake. Dinner and overnight at Pangong lake

DAY 08
Drive Pangog Lake – Leh - 150 Kms
Have a beautiful sunrise breakfast and retrace back to Upsi. Cross the river Indus by gollwing a deep gorge uphill drive will take you the biggest monastery of this region called Hemis. Hemis festival is famous for its mask dance and the longest Tanka rituals. Explore the best of this monastery and drive back to Leh. Departure Leh
After breakfast you will get transferred to the airport in time to board flight for onward destination. Or you may have other program to explore more of Ladakh or further drive to Srinagar in Kashmir.
